Drawing on everything from Delta blues and ragtime through hard-hitting indie and classic rock, the bluesy British post-grunge/Americana outfit Kill It Kid has invited parallels with the White Stripes, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, and the Black Keys. The Bath-based quartet came together in 2008 around guitarist and vocalist Chris Turpin, keyboard player and vocalist Stephanie Ward, drummer Marc Jones, and bass player Dom Kozubik. In addition to the standard rock & roll configuration of guitar, keys, bass, and drums, the group has also incorporated banjo, fiddle, and slide guitar. They tracked their first EP that same year under producer John Parish, known for his work with PJ Harvey and Eels. One Little Indian Records noticed the material, signed the band the next year, and issued their self-titled debut album. Following the 2011 release of their second LP, Feet Fall Heavy, Kill It Kid secured a contract with Sire/Warner and began recording a third album, You Owe Nothing, which appeared in September 2014.
