Klostertaler

Formed in Klosterle, Austria, during 1976 by Markus Wolfahrt and Thomas Berthold under the name Klostertaler Boys, Die Klostertaler spent roughly three decades straddling traditional folk and rock while continuing to draw multigenerational audiences to their German concerts. Wolfahrt and Berthold were joined over the years by Uwe Altenried, Gerhard Gabriel, Wolfgang Maier, Gerhard Tschann, Markus Fend, and Dietmar Konzett. In 2005 Berthold, Konzett, and Uwe Altenried departed, making way for Andre Altenried—who remained only twelve months—and Christian Torchiani. Their debut album appeared in 1985, and the catalog has since grown beyond thirty releases.
