Knockout

In January 1999 Knockout first surfaced in Chicago, IL. The group handled its own demo recordings inside a suburban home studio before issuing the nine-song album Driven to Distraction through Mr. Good Records in September 2001. Heavy local touring alongside fellow emo-poppers Fall Out Boy and 5o4plan led to a 2002 contract with Fearless Records, after which the band delivered its full-length CD Searching for Solid Ground that October. Continued road work eventually strained the lineup, which cycled through ten members across the group’s four-year existence, prompting the remaining musicians to disband in August 2003.
