Leddra Chapman

Genre: Pop
Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
Leddra Chapman crafts summery acoustic songs that blend the introspective folk style of early Joni Mitchell with the ska-infused pop of Lily Allen. The Brentwood, Essex native arrived in 1989 and began teaching herself guitar and piano at age 12, later capturing multiple demos inside a modest home studio her family had constructed in the garage. A standout set at Manchester’s In the City Music Conference generated immediate industry interest, prompting her enrollment at the London College of Music and a series of European showcases that followed her appointment as an ambassador for the Quiksilver clothing brand. Telling Tales, her first album, appeared in 2010 under the guidance of producer Peter-John Vetesse (Annie Lennox, Sia) and coincided with a joint U.K. tour alongside Ben Montague.
