Biography
Limp, an alternative pop/rock outfit, traces its roots to California’s San Francisco Bay Area, the same locale that earlier gave rise to Neurosis, Fang, Econochrist, and Rancid. After issuing its debut album Pop and Disorderly in 1997, the group spent the next twelve months on the road, steadily cultivating a broader audience and stronger grassroots support. The following year saw the release of the five-song EP Fine Girl on Fueled by Ramen, which was succeeded in early 1999 by the band’s second full-length Guitarded on Honest Don’s. College radio embraced Guitarded through repeated spins, helping the record gain traction. A self-titled third album then appeared on Fat Wreck. Producer Ryan Greene oversaw all three LPs, bringing experience from prior sessions with Lagwagon, Cheap Trick, NOFX, and Nerf Herder, among others. Limp has shared bills with Foo Fighters, NOFX, Blink-182, Unwritten Tour, and the Offspring, and has toured alongside Fueled by Ramen labelmate Less Than Jake as well as Lagwagon, the Donnas, Dance Hall Crashers, Bouncing Souls, and Suicide Machines. The band’s roster comprises drummer Johnny Cruz, bass player Serge Verkhovsky, and guitarist and vocalist Phil Ensor.
