In 2001 Puff Daddy adopted the name P. Diddy, relaunched Bad Boy with a fresh roster of artists, and marked the occasion on the album The Saga Continues; Loon signed on and, the next summer, reached the top of the charts as the featured rapper on Diddy's "I Need a Girl, Pt. 2." Roughly eighteen months later Bad Boy issued the rapper's self-titled solo album in late 2003, with "How You Want That" featuring Kelis on the hook serving as the lead single. The project presented the smooth-rapping Loon as a kind of Mase redux, yet listeners responded with less fervor than they had shown the rapper-turned-preacher five years earlier.
