Originally assembled as the Latin ensemble Los Caminantes, the act brought together the Guanajuato, Mexico-born brothers Agustín, Horacio, Brígido, and Martín Ramírez with Humberto Navarro. Their opening release, Supe Perder, arrived in 1983 and quickly yielded several mid-’80s successes, among them “Cuando Dos Almas,” “He Sabido,” “Porque Tengo Tu Amor,” and “Ven y Abrázame.” Mario Sotelo took over the keyboard chair from Brígido Ramírez in advance of the 1986 album De Guanajuato...Para America, which yielded the hit “Amor Sin Palabras.” An accident soon claimed Martín Ramírez, after which the remaining members issued the 1987 tribute record Gracias Martín. Further personnel adjustments followed, yet the group sustained both recording and touring activity across the ensuing decades. Agustín Ramírez passed away on October 26, 2022, at the age of seventy.
