Formed in Guanajuato, Mexico, the norteño ensemble Pumas del Norte consists of five siblings from the Balver family, namely vocalist and accordionist Ramon, vocalist Agustin, guitarist David, bassist Juan, and saxophonist Rogelio. The band's initial foray came in 1994 via the album Y Me Quede con Ganas, which yielded the successful track "Devuelveme el Corazon," while their next effort, Enamorado Hasta las Cachas in 1995, produced the major hit "Pierdete Conmigo." They reappeared on the charts during 1996 thanks to "La 100 X," extracted from the album Corridos de Valientes, and then emerged once more in the subsequent year with Cheque de Amor, which was succeeded twelve months afterward by Hasta el Cielo Ida y Vuelta. Al Ponerse el Sol arrived in 1999, and two years hence came Corridos Verdaderos.
