Biography
LSDXOXO earns acclaim across dance circles through an aggressive yet sex-positive fusion that blends ballroom, hip-house, breakbeat techno, and additional club idioms. His high-energy DJ performances weave in vocal hooks drawn from mainstream pop alongside underground strains such as Baltimore club and hardcore. By curating nights including New York’s GHE20G0TH1K and his own Berlin-based Floorgasm series, he has upheld a commitment to restoring Black queer dancefloors. From the early 2010s onward he has worked with Cakes da Killa, Bbymutha, Kelela, and Shygirl while issuing several acclaimed mixtapes, most notably 2018’s Body Mods, together with EPs such as 2021’s Dedicated 2 Disrespect and 2023’s Delusions of Grandeur (D.O.G.).
RJ Glasgow, who was born in Philadelphia, began crafting homemade dance edits of pop and hip-hop tracks during high school. After relocating to New York City he aligned himself with the GHE20G0TH1K collective. His debut LSDXOXO release, 2013’s Softcore, featured contributions from queer rappers Cakes da Killa and Le1f as well as Jersey club queen UNiiQU3. Subsequent projects included 2014’s Whorecore, 2015’s Sacanagem, and 2016’s GHE20G0TH1K-issued Fuck Marry Kill, which drew attention for its club remix of Kanye West’s “Freestyle 4.” The 2018 mixtape Body Mods, containing club reworkings of material by Depeche Mode, Missy Elliott, and Mr. Vegas, quickly became an underground favorite.
Glasgow relocated to Berlin and turned his Floorgasm party, originally launched in New York, into a monthly event. He issued the 2020 mixtape Waiting 2 Exhale and the single “Dying for It 2021.” His first XL EP, 2021’s Dedicated 2 Disrespect, comprised four tracks built around his own sexually charged vocals instead of samples. In 2022 he dropped singles such as “SMD,” “DRaiN,” and “Demons” (with Eartheater). Because Music released the 2023 EP Delusions of Grandeur (D.O.G.).
