Biography
In 2004, singer and songwriter Marta Roure made history as Andorra's inaugural participant in the Eurovision Song Contest. Born in Andorra, she pursued her education in France before committing to music upon returning at age 17. Her initial foray involved performing with her father's ensemble, Big Band D'Andorra, after which she enrolled in studies of piano, vocal technique, and music theory at the Andorran Academy of Music Studies. A television program combined with public voting from Andorra selected her composition "Jugarem a Estimar-nos" ("We'll Be Playing at Loving Each Other") to represent the nation at Eurovision. Notably, this marked the first instance of a Catalan-language song being performed at the contest, reflecting Andorra's official tongue.
