Maya Hawke, the New York actress, singer, and songwriter recognized for portraying Robin Buckley in the Netflix series Stranger Things, launched her recording career in 2020 via the album Blush. That dusty alt-country collection wrapped her poetic and frequently heartfelt lyrics in a distinctive sonic frame. Songwriter Jesse Harris supplied the music for her debut, whereas the 2022 follow-up MOSS drew on input from Benjamin Lazar Davis, Christian Lee Hutson, and Will Graefe. Both Chaos Angel, her third full-length, and the EP Clipped Wings reached listeners in 2024.
Born to actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, she spent her childhood in New York surrounded by creative pursuits. Upon completing her studies at the art-focused Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, Hawke took summer acting courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, later enrolling at Juilliard. While also modeling, she secured a part in the 2017 BBC miniseries Little Women and withdrew from Juilliard ahead of production.
