Biography
Known as an ethereal Celtic vocalist, Méav first gained recognition as a featured soprano soloist in the choral ensemble Anúna during its participation in several major Riverdance productions. Alongside her extensive tours with Anúna, she appeared multiple times with the Irish National Chamber and Concert Orchestras. This varied experience informed her self-titled debut album, issued in 2000 on the Hearts of Space label, which incorporated traditional Celtic songs alongside classical-style pieces, chiefly orchestral arrangements, and a dramatic new age sensibility. Silver Sea (2003) and Celtic Journey and Celtic Woman (both 2006) carried those elements to a wider audience.
