Julian Corrie performs under the stage name Miaoux Miaoux as a Glasgow-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Originally from Nottingham, England, he lived briefly in Peru during childhood, later trained in sound engineering within England, and eventually relocated to Scotland for a BBC sound-engineering post. His debut Miaoux Miaoux release, the experimental indie-electronic album Rainbow Bubbles, appeared in 2007 as a fully self-produced and self-issued project, with the EP Blooms following in 2010. Building a live reputation for dance-driven sets that wove spontaneous multi-instrument loops in real time, while issuing scattered singles and remixes, Corrie joined the Glasgow imprint Chemikal Underground to deliver the self-recorded LP Light of the North in 2012. His third studio album, School of Velocity, surfaced in 2015 filled with hooky synth pop.
