Born in Czechoslovakia during 1971, Michal Hruza entered the pop/rock scene by signing on with his initial school ensemble back in 1986. That early collective eventually dissolved, prompting him to launch Bram-Bory, a punk rock outfit, in 1990. After only a handful of performances, Hruza shifted to 51st Chvile in 1992; the ensemble secured slots on tours and at festivals yet began changing its musical path, leading him to exit in 1993. A short period with Anachronic followed, after which he established the more fruitful Ready Kirken in 1996. The act achieved moderate recognition by supporting Czech rock band Chinaski and issuing several albums, yet persistent internal tensions forced a full personnel overhaul in 2000. Fresh conflicts soon resurfaced within the reconstituted lineup, so by 2005 Michal Hruza began pursuing outside projects, including a songwriting assignment for the champion of the first season of the Czech edition of Pop Idol, the televised talent competition. He formally left Ready Kirken in 2006, ending the group’s run. The following year saw the arrival of his debut solo release, Bila Velryba.
