Biography
Hailing from Los Angeles, Milo Greene functions as an exuberant indie pop group recognized for its catchy melodies and the habit of rotating lead-vocal responsibilities among every member. The ensemble surfaced in 2012 with a harmony-rich debut album that topped the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Although vocal harmonies continue to anchor their style, the group broadened its palette toward polished, synth-tinged pop on the 2018 release Adult Contemporary.
The project first assembled in Northern California near 2009, initially comprising vocalist and instrumentalist Marlana Sheetz, vocalist and instrumentalist Robbie Arnett, and vocalist and guitarist Andrew Heringer. During the following years the trio captured material on Heringer’s laptop while working at various friends’ residences. After moving to Los Angeles, the lineup expanded with the addition of singer and instrumentalist Graham Fink plus percussionist Curtis Marrero. In 2012 the band issued its self-titled debut through Atlantic; the album reached number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and number 115 on the Billboard 200.
Three years afterward the group delivered its second album, Control. Shifting away from earlier folk-leaning textures, the record embraced a synth-driven direction shaped by 1980s new wave and R&B. Heringer subsequently departed the band. The similarly refined Adult Contemporary followed in 2018 and featured the single “Move.”
