Biography
Younes Latifi came into the world on February 5, 1984, in Paris, France, as a French rapper of Moroccan heritage who later adopted the stage name Mister You and spent his childhood in the Belleville neighborhood. Before mainstream recognition arrived with the 2010 mixtape Mec de Rue that entered the Top Ten, he had issued Cocktail de Rue in 2007, La Rue C'est Paro in 2008, and Arrête You Si Tu Peux in 2009. The last of those titles, rendered in English as "Arrest You If You Can," pointed to his status as a fugitive from French police since 2007. Capture occurred on December 3, 2009, after which authorities imposed a prison sentence tied to a drug-related offense. Présumé Coupable appeared in 2010 during his incarceration. Temporary release from custody took effect on October 12, 2010, the same date Mec de Rue reached listeners and secured its Top Ten placement. More than a dozen rappers contributed to the mixtape, which produced the hit single "Ça Sort du Zoogataga" featuring Tunisiano and Isleym.
