Mullage

Mullage, made up of Braelon "B Town" McMullen and Marquez "B Boi" Hutchinson, fuse R&B smoothness into a hip-hop core, propelled by an urge to expand rap's limits in the spirit of OutKast and yielding layered tracks that arise from the opposing temperaments within their two distinct hip-hop approaches. Though the Atlanta natives lived only short distances apart during their formative years, they did not unite until serving alongside each other in the U.S. Navy in the late-'00s. Following their discharges, the pair launched live performances throughout their home city. Taking cues from André 3000 for B Town and T.I. for B Boi, their refined blend of textures soon drew interest from the latter's Grand Hustle label, placing Mullage on a major roster by 2009. That autumn the duo's T-Pain-assisted strip-club ballad "Trick'n" placed them before a nationwide listenership.
