Biography
My Ruin functions primarily as Tairrie B.’s solo endeavor, the artist having previously performed with Tura Satana. Its inaugural release arrived in 1999 as a single spotlighting the band’s version of “Tainted Love,” backed by the original tracks “Blasphemous Girl” and “Scars.” Shortly afterward came the debut full-length Speak and Destroy, which reached the UK market in 1999 yet waited until 2000 for its American appearance. The next album, A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish, followed its British pressing soon after Speak and Destroy’s US launch and was itself preceded by the single “Beauty Fiend,” though American listeners did not receive it until 2001. Tairrie, Mick Murphy, and Meghan Mattox currently constitute the lineup, while the third album, To Britain With Love, appeared exclusively in the UK.
