Biography
Nailed to Obscurity formed in 2005 when guitarists Jan-Ole Lamberti and Volker Dieken assembled the German heavy metal band. Its sound fuses death, progressive, and doom metal through punishing riffs and spectral soundscapes that recall Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Amorphis, and early Opeth. Two years later the group delivered its debut album, Abyss, and backed the release with concerts alongside Dark Tranquillity, Paradise Lost, and Arch Enemy. Apostasy Records issued the critically acclaimed follow-up, Opaque, in 2013. Festival appearances at Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze came next, leading to the 2017 release of the third album, King Delusion, again on Apostasy. The band later signed with Nuclear Blast, which put out its fourth full-length, Black Frost, in 2019.
