Needles//Pins

Named after a Sonny Bono composition that both the Searchers and the Ramones committed to tape, Needles//Pins emerged as a Canadian punk outfit whose songs combine an ear for melody with taut, rapid-fire execution and lyrics that openly display the group’s emotional core. The lineup consists of Adam Ess, also known as Adam Solomonian, handling guitar and vocals, Tony X, also known as Tony Dubroy, on bass, and Macey Bee, also known as Macey Budgell, behind the drums. The three musicians came together in 2009 and issued their debut single, Drop It, on Scum Buzz Records in 2011. Later that same year they shared a split single with the Moby Dicks. Buoyed by those early releases, the band began performing across their region ahead of delivering the full-length 12:34 on Mammoth Cave Recording Company in 2012. Their follow-up, Shamebirds, appeared two years later under the Dirt Cult Records imprint. When the third album, Good Night, Tomorrow, arrived in 2017, the group had already retired their playful stage names and aligned with the Canadian indie outlet Mint Records.
