Neil Swainson spent two years collaborating with Paul Horn in Victoria. During the 1980s he performed often with Woody Shaw while also appearing alongside James Moody, George Coleman, and Zoot Sims. Although he belonged to Moe Koffman’s quintet from 1978 to 1982, Swainson achieved his widest recognition after beginning an association with George Shearing in 1988 that extended into the late 1990s. The dependable bassist has furthermore recorded with Jay McShann, Ed Bickert, and Rob McConnell, among others.
