Biography

Emerging in the opening years of the 2000s, Olivia presented a pop-R&B style shaped by Janet Jackson, TLC, and Brandy. Recognition came chiefly from her 2001 Top 20 pop single "Bizounce" and her vocal contribution to 50 Cent’s 2005 chart-topping "Candy Shop," after which the vocalist joined the first three seasons of Love & Hip Hop: New York and released scattered tracks such as "Sun Don't Shine" in 2014.

New York native Olivia Longott, gifted with perfect pitch, refined her instrument through church choir performances, renditions of Michael Jackson songs for friends, and teenage instruction in voice, guitar, and piano, ultimately signing with Clive Davis’ J Records in 2000. The following year she climbed to number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Bizounce," the opening single from her self-titled debut album Olivia. Over the subsequent decade she issued multiple singles, attaining peak visibility via her featured role on 50 Cent’s number one pop hit "Candy Shop" in 2005. A planned solo project for the rapper’s Interscope-affiliated G Unit imprint never appeared. Early in the following decade Olivia joined the cast of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York, staying through its first three seasons. In the same span another album, slated for Jerry Duplessis’ Wonda Music label, was developed yet ultimately canceled. She returned in 2014 with the Sean Kingston-assisted "Sun Don't Shine" and released the memoir Release Me: My Life, My Words that same year. Appearances in the films Supermodel and The Man in 3B came soon after.
