Biography
In the latter part of 2004, O'Ryan stepped into the oversaturated teen pop landscape through a self-titled debut album issued by Tug Entertainment, a Universal subsidiary. Usher claimed that year as his own within the genre, and though O'Ryan fell short of the front-runner’s level of stardom, he blended effectively among contemporaries that included Mario, Ciara, Cassidy, Ashanti, and Marques Houston. The opening single Take It Slow failed to gain the traction hoped for, and the same held true for the album that featured it, yet the shortfall did not reflect any shortage of promise. O'Ryan ranked among the stronger teen pop vocalists to emerge that year, with his record standing as one of the more accomplished releases.
