Pretty Ricky

The Miami quartet Pretty Ricky, consisting of Spectacular Smith, Diamond Blue Smith, Corey Blue "Slick 'Em" Smith, and Pleasure P, delivered an audaciously explicit blend of rap and R&B infused with excessive vulgarity. Their debut album Bluestars, issued by Atlantic in 2005, featured the urban radio success "Grind with Me" as its lead single and achieved sales exceeding 800,000 units. Early 2007 saw the arrival of Late Night Special, an enhanced production effort helmed by Jim Jonsin that ascended to number one on both the Billboard 200 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Pleasure P exited the following year to pursue solo endeavors, with Christopher "Ambition/4play" Myers stepping in temporarily before Manny Ramon "Lingerie" Deanda joined to stabilize the roster. Following the leak and cancellation of Eighties Babies, the group recorded Pretty Ricky under the sole production of Diamond, which appeared in 2009.
