Biography
Paul Ritch, a Paris-based producer specializing in minimal techno, attained widespread international recognition during 2007 following his first studio output just twelve months prior. His primary association remains with Resopal Schallware, the imprint established by the German tech-house pair MRI. He first appeared on that label in 2006 via the Samba 12" EP, with further Resopal Schallware titles arriving the next year in the form of Winter Ceremony, Natural Gun, and Summer Ceremony. Throughout 2007 he also placed additional 12" EPs elsewhere: Fortuna and June on Get Physical Music, Back to the Time on Fumakilla, Higher on Paradigma Musik, and Nordbanhof on MiniSketch. His tracks appeared that same year on no fewer than nine compilation mixes, among them John Digweed’s Transitions, Vol. 3, Gui Boratto’s Addicted, Vol. 2, Layo & Bushwacka!’s Global Underground: Rio, and M.A.N.D.Y.’s Ibiza ’07. Still in 2007 he found room to issue the Le Bal Masqué 12" EP, a joint effort with producer Okain under the Handycraft moniker, through the Kickboxer label. The following year Ritch took the stage at multiple electronic dance music events, among them a live performance at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF).
