Pan-Pot, a minimal techno duo from Germany tied to Mobilee Records, issued their widely praised first album Pan-O-Rama in 2007. Based in Berlin, the pair consists of Tassilo Ippenberger, who hails from Chiemsee in Bavaria, and Thomas Benedix, originally from Templin in Brandenburg. The two crossed paths while enrolled at the SAE Institute. Early recognition on the local techno circuit came through a run of parties they organized in the city. Among those encounters was Marco Resmann, another SAE student, leading to the formation of Pan-Pot and initial production work inside his studio. They also connected with Anja Schneider, co-founder of Mobilee Records. Their first commercial releases arrived in 2005 via the EPs Popy & Caste on Mobilee and Maffia on Einmaleins Musik, both realized in partnership with Resmann. Though further material appeared on Einmaleins Musik, Mobilee became their primary outlet. Later EPs on that label encompassed Obscenity, Extra, Black Lodge, What Is What, and Charly, issued between 2005 and 2007. The 2007 album Pan-O-Rama gathered standout tracks from those Mobilee sessions. Follow-up EPs included The Remixes in 2008 and Confronted in 2009. Beyond original productions, the duo gained notice for remixes created for Anja Schneider, Mathias Schaffhäuser, Tim Xavier, and Sweet N'Candy. They simultaneously built reputations as international DJs, traveling widely to promote their recorded work.
