Charlotte de Witte crafts intense, propulsive techno built around stark and relentless beats, at times weaving in fragments of eerie melodies or vocal elements. After early attention for her electro-house productions, she drew broader notice by refining a more shadowy, atmospheric approach across releases like the 2018 EP The Healer. She also established her KNTXT imprint, which has hosted further EPs and singles such as 2022’s Universal Consciousness and the 2023 track “High Street.”

De Witte was born in Ghent and began DJing in 2010 at age 17. She initially performed under the alias Raving George to direct focus toward her technical abilities instead of her gender. Her sets started with electro-house and EDM; her first major opportunity arrived after she won a Studio Brussel DJ contest, which led to a performance at the 2011 Tomorrowland festival. She made multiple return appearances there, became a resident at Studio Brussel, and played events including I Love Techno and Pukkelpop. Beginning in 2013 she released tracks as Raving George on Bad Life and Crux Records, achieving a breakthrough with the 2015 single “You’re Mine,” a collaboration with Oscar and the Wolf, the project of Belgian vocalist Max Colombie.

By 2015 her music had shifted toward a darker, more direct strain of techno. Having built a solid career, she abandoned the alias and began recording under her own name. The Weltschmerz EP appeared on Tiga’s Turbo label late that year, followed by additional material on Amazone Records, Mary Go Wild Black, and NovaMute. She held a residency at Brussels venue Fuse while becoming a sought-after performer worldwide. In 2017 she featured on the cover of DJ Mag; the following year she delivered an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 just before issuing her second NovaMute EP, The Healer.

She maintained a measured pace of EP releases over subsequent years, preserving her signature rhythmic weight and use of vocal samples. The 2019 outings Pressure and Selected appeared alongside an ominous remix of Eats Everything’s “Space Raiders.” That same year she launched her KNTXT label. Subsequent EPs included 2020’s Vision and Return to Nowhere as well as 2021’s Formula and Asura. Universal Consciousness and Apollo followed in 2022. In 2023 she joined Enrico Sangiuliano for the Reflection EP and issued the solo single “High Street.”
