Platnum

Platnum, a vocal trio hailing from Manchester, England, first gained widespread attention through their involvement in the U.K. garage scene, especially its bassline variant, via the 2008 number two single "What's It Gonna Be" from H Two O. The group consists of Aaron Evers, Michelle McKenna, and Mina Poli, who issued their initial recording, the 12" U.K. garage track Over the Heartache, on Nocturnal Records back in 2006. Their pivotal partnership with H Two O on "What's It Gonna Be" began with a white label pressing from Ministry of Sound toward the end of 2007 before receiving an official launch in early 2008 on the label's fresh Hard2Beat Records imprint. With Platnum providing the vocals atop H Two O's production, the track climbed to the second position on the U.K. singles chart and also reached the Top Ten in Ireland. Platnum followed this success later that year by issuing "Love Shy (Thinking About You)," their rendition of Kristine Blond's 2000 hit "Love Shy," which peaked at number 12 on the U.K. chart.
