Biography
Originating from Oslo, Norway, electronic pop outfit Ponette blends glitch-hop rhythms and frosty synthesizers with sturdy guitar lines and synth-pop hooks. The group, made up of Helene Svaland, Johannes Amble, Ivo Gutu, and Johan Fredrik Bolli, debuted in 2016 through the independently issued I'm Alone EP, which drew praise from fellow Norwegian electronic act Röyksopp. In 2017 they moved their recordings to the stage and secured slots on the bills of Norwegian Wood Festival, Øyafestivalen, and by:Larm Festival. The same year brought the single "Freak" as well as a guest spot on "Medicine" by American producer Black Coast. Ponette resurfaced in 2018 with the track "Gun."
