Glam-garage rock outfit Prima Donna crafts high-energy, streetwise tunes laced with fresh attitude. The group came together in Los Angeles during 2003 and features singer/guitarist Kevin Preston, guitarist Erik Arcane, saxophone/keyboard player Aaron Minton, bassist "Lights Out" Levine, and drummer David S. Field. In 2005 the quintet hit the road across Europe alongside fellow traveler Texas Terri, issued its first full-length album Kiss Kiss through the Brunette label, and closed out the calendar by supporting the post-Sex Pistols venture Glen Matlock & the Philistines on its American dates. While unveiling the follow-up After Hours in 2008, Prima Donna struck up a rapport with Green Day, who brought Preston into the live lineup of their Foxboro Hot Tubs side project. Airplay on radio plus stateside runs the next year with Eddie & the Hot Rods and U.S. Bombs frontman Duane Peters’ Gunfight lifted the band’s visibility still higher, eventually securing an opening slot on Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown world trek through Europe and subsequently Asia. Thanks to an introduction from Green Day to engineer Chris Dugan of Jingletown Recorders, the musicians finished Bless This Mess, which appeared in February 2012. Nine Lives and Forty-Fives arrived in early 2015.
