Following the Wreckless Klan's sole output, PSK-13 launched a solo path once Ice Lord landed behind bars and .38 suffered a fatal end. His first effort arrived with 1997's Born Bad?, which delivered a largely conventional hardcore approach while inserting occasional notes of remorse amid celebrations of gangsta existence. Establishing Black Monopoly Records on his own, PSK-13 issued Pay Like You Weigh, a collection blending earlier singles with fresh material that he and Jo Traxx handled for the bulk of the production. That same year brought Flagrant: The Hustle Game Project, Vol. 1, consisting entirely of new recordings that included appearances from former Klan associates Ice Lord and Point Blank. Connections also formed with fellow Texas figures such as South Park Mexican and DJ Screw, whose guidance acquainted PSK-13 with the "screwed" technique of stretching tracks down to half speed or lower, an approach that aligned with the mind-altering substances prevalent in the local scene. Embracing this method, PSK emerged among the primary figures issuing projects in that format, so that nearly every release after Flagrant received the slowed and altered treatment to suit his updated direction. Among these stand the Somethin' to Lean To installments, which showcase both PSK and collaborators including the Nightshift Hustlas delivering their performances under the same warped treatment.
