Biography
Pure Love, an English-American indie rock band, originated in 2011 when former Gallows frontman Frank Carter joined forces with guitarist Jim Carroll, previously of Suicide File and The Hope Conspiracy. Moving away from the grim, abrasive hardcore punk of their earlier bands, the group adopted a brighter alt-rock sound echoing the anthemic punk-pop of Gaslight Anthem alongside Against Me!’s White Crosses era. The outfit secured a Vertigo contract in 2012, then entered the studio with producer Gil Norton to create their first full-length release, which surfaced as Anthems the following February.
