Biography
An actress and vocalist, Raven-Symoné gained her widest recognition playing Olivia, the youngest child in comedian Bill Cosby's household, on the hit NBC sitcom The Cosby Show. Although that series concluded in 1992, Raven's own professional journey was only getting underway; the following year she joined the cast of the sitcom Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. Also in 1993 she issued her debut album, the kiddie rap-flavored Here's to New Dreams, which included the single "That's What Little Girls Are Made Of." The project met with modest sales, so nearly six years passed before she resurfaced with the R&B-inflected Undeniable in 1999. Issued with minimal attention, that album was merely one strand of her work during the late '90s and early 2000s, when she balanced school with supporting roles in the Eddie Murphy vehicle Dr. Dolittle and its 2001 sequel. By 2003 she had appeared in the Disney Channel movie Cheetah Girls and launched her own Disney series, That's So Raven. A year afterward came her third solo album, This Is My Time, with From Then Until (2006) and Raven-Symone (2008) arriving later.
