While attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Robby Hecht developed his sincere folk approach rooted in Americana, one shaped by the influence of Joe Purdy and Damien Jurado. After finishing his degree he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, spent the years that followed traveling widely to perform, appeared on stages with Patty Griffin and Ron Sexsmith, and collected several songwriting honors. His first full-length record, Late Last Night, arrived in 2008 and included guest contributions from songwriting associates Mindy Smith, Thad Cockrell, John Deaderick, and Andrea Zonn; the follow-up, Last on the Long Days, came three years later. Multi-instrumentalist Lex Price produced the self-titled third album issued in 2014, with guitarist Will Kimbrough and an array of additional musicians taking part in the sessions.
