Biography
Born in Tampico, Roberto Cantoral moved to Mexico City for college, only to abandon his coursework partway through and launch a career as a working musician. In that capacity he both composed the Latin standards "El Reloj," "La Barca," "Regálame Esta Noche," "El Triste," "Al Final," and "Demasiado Tarde" and founded and led los Tres Caballeros, the group he assembled under the name Roberto Cantoral y los Tres Caballeros. Lupita d'Alessio, José José, Emmanuel, Vicente Fernandez, and Lucho Gatica are among the artists who have recorded his material.
