Biography
Ryan Peake entered the world in Brooks, Alberta, Canada, on March 1, 1973, and now serves as second guitarist in the multi-platinum rock outfit Nickelback. His earliest musical touchstones included Metallica and Megadeth, and after his family settled in the modest farming town of Hanna, Alberta, he struck up a school friendship with brothers Chad and Mike Kroeger. The trio soon joined forces in a covers group that later disbanded, prompting them to reassemble in 1996 as the post-grunge quartet Nickelback, built around original material Chad Kroeger had developed independently. Steady rotation on Canadian stations quickly raised the band’s profile nationwide, and a contract with Roadrunner Records in the United States propelled their breakthrough on American charts via the major 2001 single “How You Remind Me.”
