Emerging onto the scene in 2013, Sasha Keable drew notice after lending her voice to DJ Zinc’s “Only for Tonight” and Disclosure’s “Voices.” Born and raised in South London to Colombian parents and a BRIT School graduate, she stood out at once through her commanding vocals, fearless demeanor, and unflinchingly honest songwriting. Following her signing to Tinie Tempah’s Disturbing London label, she issued the EPs Black Book (2013) and Lemongrass and Limeleaves (2014), revealing a versatility that moved between trip-hop and vintage R&B and soul. After an extended quiet spell with no new output for several years, she resurfaced in the late 2010s and early 2020s, racking up millions of streams on cuts such as “That’s the Shit” (2018) and especially “Killing Me” (2021) with Jorja Smith, which appeared on the Intermission EP. Another three-year gap preceded her 2024 return with “Hold Up.”
