Biography
Raised in the Bronx, Sean Altman studied violin during childhood and launched his professional performing life at seventeen as half of the duo Moon Pudding. At Brown University he sang with both the rock band the Blind Dates and the a cappella octet the High Jinks. He established the a cappella ensemble Rockapella in 1986, and the group achieved nationwide visibility through the PBS documentary Spike Lee & Co.: Do It A Cappella. The ensemble then served five years as regulars on the children’s series Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?, for which Altman composed the theme song, and issued nine albums altogether. He departed Rockapella in 1997 and began his solo career with the self-released album Seandemonium.
