Biography
Emerging from Leamington Spa, England, the British band Sharks formed in 2007 around the core of singer and songwriter James Mattock, delivering a straightforward style of pub rock infused with punk elements. The group put out multiple EPs over the following years, such as Shallow Waters in 2008 and Show of Hands in 2010. These earlier recordings came together in 2011 as the compilation The Joys of Living: 2008-2010, which included a pair of tracks that had not been released before. Returning in 2013, Sharks issued their second full-length record, Selfhood, reflecting a more grown-up and word-conscious take on their tuneful, punk-tinged approach.
