Biography
Kody Nielson, the New Zealand-based musician and producer, launched Silicon as his electronic-oriented solo venture. He first gained attention in the early and mid-2000s alongside brother Ruban of Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the experimental guitar band the Mint Chicks, and afterward in the psych combo Opossum. The Auckland native, intent on charting a fresh course with his own material, shaped the dark retro-futurist electro-pop that became Silicon. Once signed to U.K. label Domino, he issued the debut LP Personal Computer in 2015.
