Biography
Originating in Sacramento, California, singer/songwriter Terra Lopez launched the electronic duo Sister Crayon as her initial solo venture before producer Dani Fernandez came aboard. The two issued a pair of albums—Bellow in 2011 and Cynic in 2013—built around beat-driven dark synth textures shaped by trip-hop and '90s hip-hop. While laying down what was to become the third Sister Crayon album, Devoted, in 2015, Lopez suffered the successive losses of her father and her closest friend. Those twin bereavements prompted the pair to adopt the new name Rituals of Mine, thereby retiring the identity their loved ones had known while securing a title that belonged equally to both women.
