Biography
The trio known as the Space Raiders, consisting of Mark Hornby, Gary Bradford, and Martin Jenkins, first appeared via several EPs released on Skint, a label from the U.K., showcasing their quirky approach to big beat. They later transitioned into producing complete albums, though their bid to reach American audiences proved fruitless. Having formed as a group instead of centering on one individual, they entered the scene after the peak of the big beat movement from the end of the 1990s, which had been spearheaded by Fatboy Slim and the Chemical Brothers. Consequently, American audiences largely overlooked them, including during their support slot for the Lo-Fidelity Allstars. Within Britain, their achievements remained limited, primarily stemming from the 1999 release of their single "(I Need the) Disko Doktor."
