Biography
At the core of the soulful rock trio Spanish Gold stands Dante Schwebel, who previously served as singer and guitarist for Hacienda. The group came together in 2013 once Schwebel had left Hacienda, though it started out as his individual endeavor. Schwebel then brought in Adrian Quesada, a guitarist from Grupo Fantasma whom he knew from high school, along with Patrick Hallahan on drums from My Morning Jacket, because he preferred the collaborative band environment. With that lineup, they developed Schwebel's songs and cut them in the studio alongside producer Collin Dupuis, whose credits include the Black Keys, Zoos of Berlin, and Dr. Dog. Their first full-length album, South of Nowhere, appeared in 2014 via BMG/Dine Alone Records.
