Biography
Born as Jason McDermott in Spanish Town, Jamaica, dancehall MC Stylo G is the son of Poison Chang and the brother of Kodi Starr (Crazy Cousins). He relocated to London, England, at age 14. Still a teenager, he issued his first notable recording in 2004, the grime-oriented “My Yout,” which featured Sickman and Ice Kid. Continuing to fuse Jamaican and U.K. sounds, he notched another underground success with “Call Me a Yardie” in 2011. After signing with the 3beat label, he dropped the Diztortion-produced “Soundbwoy,” a single that entered the Top 20 of the U.K. pop chart in 2013.
