Jamaican pop vocalist Jada Kingdom first pursued modeling before achieving her own musical breakthroughs. Following her appearance as the lead in the 2016 video for Sean Kingston's single "One Away," the teenager turned her attention to recording and issued her initial tracks, beginning with the 2017 R&B-edged dancehall number "Love Situations." Across the following years she maintained a consistent output of material that culminated in the 2020 EP E-Syde Queen (The Twinkle Playlist) #Snacksize.

Blending dancehall rhythms with updated R&B production and a wide-ranging vocal approach, the Kingston-based singer moved from modeling and online visibility to mainstream pop success in 2017. She focused primarily on standalone releases while contributing guest vocals to other projects, scoring viral successes with both "Love Situations" and the subsequent single "Unwanted," each accompanied by videos that accumulated millions of views. During 2018 she continued issuing tracks such as "Wull On," "Best You Ever Had (B.Y.E.H.)," and "Banana," closing the year with the late-December pair "Medicine" and "One Time." Those two recordings incorporated reggae and dancehall signatures yet leaned toward a polished R&B aesthetic overall. In the ensuing years, DaVido and Vybz Kartel supplied remixes for several of her songs, and alongside further singles including "Badum," "Green Dreams," and "Happy Place," she gathered material for the 2020 EP. By 2021 she had added features on other artists' releases while dropping the new singles "Perfect Timing" and "Jungle."
