Biography
Suplecs, a New Orleans-rooted trio of wrestling devotees whose name references a specific takedown maneuver, came together in the mid-'90s with Durel Yates handling guitars and vocals, Danny Nick on bass and vocals, and Andrew Preen behind the drums. Their first album, Wrestlin' With My Lady Friend, appeared in 2000 just before the label Man's Ruin collapsed, yet the band pressed ahead without pause to deliver the follow-up Sad Songs... Better Days on Dark Reign/Devil Doll Records in 2002, with production handled by Dave Fortman, previously of Ugly Kid Joe.
