Symba, the Bay Area emcee, fuses precise wordplay with self-assured rhymes to project both assurance and depth, positioning his style between Pusha T and Vince Staples. He first surfaced in the early 2010s favoring melodic, radio-friendly textures before redirecting his energy toward raw narratives that highlighted the weight of his cadence and flow. Following a major-label deal in early 2020, Symba issued his full-length Don't Run from R.A.P. Two years afterward he joined forces with DJ Drama on the Gangsta Grillz project Results Take Time, and 2023 brought the LaRussell-assisted hit “Hell of a Feeling.”

The Californian launched his career in 2010 via the sparkling pop-rap single “Sex Me to the Beat,” which he followed with the 2012 celebratory track “No Way Around It” and the album II Words. Propelled by booming beats, Auto-Tuned vocals, and sample-driven production that recalled early-era Kanye West, Symba soon shifted toward a more serious underground lane, exploring street stories, current events, and socially conscious material such as the 2018 single “Kaepernick.” In 2020 he joined Atlantic, unveiling the ominous “Serve” and the trap-inflected “Birds in the Bando.” His first release for the label arrived months later; Don't Run from R.A.P. (“Responsibilities and Principles”) included appearances by 2 Chainz on “Big Homie,” Ty Dolla $ign on “Gotta Love It,” and additional guests.

In 2021 Symba linked with Keedron Bryant and Gary Clark, Jr. for the stirring “I Know I Been Changed.” The 2022 Gangsta Grillz release Results Take Time paired him once more with DJ Drama and featured Pusha T, Roddy Ricch, and 2 Chainz. Symba opened 2023 with the singles “Top G” and “Hell of a Feeling,” the latter spotlighting Bay Area rapper LaRussell. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
