Taylor John Williams, a singer and songwriter, entered the world on June 6, 1991, in Eugene, Oregon. Music and singing had long held his attention, prompting a teacher to encourage his performance at the 2009 graduation ceremony for Sheldon High School. From that moment he moved forward without pause, shaping an attractive folk-rock approach. Immediately after finishing at Sheldon High School he issued his debut EP, Proverbial Elephant, in 2009. He spent some time enrolled at Portland State University before withdrawing to concentrate fully on music. While employed at a Portland bar and busking on the streets, he auditioned in 2014 for season seven of NBC's The Voice. Assigned to Gwen Stefani's team, he stopped short of the finals, yet his strong voice and unconventional cover treatments, notably his take on Lorde's "Royals," drew a wide audience and positioned him for a continuing career as a performer.
