Tear da Club Up Thugs launched their recording career in late 1998 with Crazyndalazdayz, coinciding with the period when Three 6 Mafia and the other Southern rappers appearing here first began climbing toward wider commercial recognition. Drawn chiefly from Three 6 Mafia ranks, the lineup centered on Lord Infamous, Juicy "J," and DJ Paul. The collective took its name from the 1997 Three 6 Mafia anthem "Tear da Club Up." Gangsta-themed lyrics dominate the group's output.
