The Butterfly Effect

In 2001, vocalist Clint Boge joined forces with guitarist Kurt Goedhart, bassist Glenn Esmond, and drummer Ben Hall to form the Brisbane-based hard rock quartet the Butterfly Effect. Their self-titled debut EP appeared before the year closed, earning steady airplay on Triple J while moving more than 10,000 copies through a schedule of nonstop live shows. After the mainstream success of the single “Crave,” the group recorded its first full-length album and released Begins Here in mid-2003. The set entered the Australian charts at number 24, propelled by the hit “Always.” The band’s 2006 follow-up, Imago, outperformed its predecessor commercially and produced the Top Ten single “A Slow Descent.”
